DR. Motion was founded by Luck Li, an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist with a special interest in restore mobility in individuals through rehabilitation.
After nearly 30 years of professional practice in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong, Mr. Li chose to defer his well-earned retirement in order to further serve the community by searching for and promoting innovative technologies to help individuals to Move Well and Stay Well.

DR. Motion is committed to evaluate and promote high-quality, low-cost innovative technologies that allow individuals to Move Well and Stay Well.

At DR. Motion, we strongly believe that individuals should make the best effort they can to help themselves gain back their own functions, and ultimately to Move Well and Stay Well without the help of any equipment. However, we know that in some cases this is not possible. To help these people to Move Well and Stay Well, we will promote only those products that are truly required by and helpful to individuals.

DR. Motion is excited to help the inventor to showcase the chair to the ones in need of it. Since both the inventor and the manufacturer have the same strong mission of helping the disadvantaged to be able to enjoy getting out and about, they have managed to keep the cost extremely low comparing with other stair climbing electric wheelchairs on the market. Since innovative technology is required to build this chair, it is still more expensive than a normal electric wheelchair. Considering all features including agility, safety, reliability and creativity, we are sure that the cost is definitely very low and affordable.

It is difficult to stay well if we are not able to move well. Poor accessibility to facilities has always penalized the old, frail and disabled to cause further physical and emotional damages. In 2010, the inventor was deeply touched by a report on a paraplegic who locked himself in his unit for 6 years merely because of the 6 steps that he had to negotiate before getting out of the building. Such simple task to us was simply impossible without assistance for the paraplegic and he had reluctantly become a prisoner in his own unit! Imaging how well one could get around even if one is only temporarily disabled to be on crutches? The unfriendly stairs, building or shop entrances or even the single step roadside curb would become a major obstacle for one with crutches to get around, let alone the wheelchair bound! Affordable electric wheelchairs are only for smooth terrain. Stair climbing electric wheelchairs are available but are very cumbersome and expensive, easily costing HK$200,000, at the price of a car! That is probably why we do not see them on the streets.
